Description
72 year old woman who had a facelift 10 years ago by another surgeon. She desired to have her neck retightened, but did not want to go through the downtime and expense of another traditional face and neck lift. She was agreeable to having her neck laxity corrected with a TZplasty direct neck lift. Her face was not treated at all. This is a procedure traditionally reserved for men, as it does leave a permanent scar on the midline of the neck. However this was not a concern for her, and she was much more desiring of a short outpatient procedure (1 hour and 30 minutes) with minimal downtime and much less expense compared to a traditional face and neck lift with several hours of anesthesia time, significant downtime, and overnight stay. She went home one hour after the procedure, and was back to her normal routine within days. This is not a traditional recommendation for most women; however in her case it was the perfect solution and she is very pleased. After pictures are 3 months postoperative. Scars continue to improve over the course of a year.
