Botox® is a popular, well-known, and safe treatment that is designed to improve the look of wrinkles and fine lines on the face in a manner that is non-invasive and does not subject patients to an intensive surgical process.
After Botox® is injected into the skin, it works to prevent the targeted muscles in the face from contracting. These injections help smooth and soften the skin while preventing more fine lines and wrinkles from forming.
Dr. Weinrach personally administers all Botox® injections in his office to ensure the procedure is carried out safely and that you are satisfied with the results. Most Botox® injection sessions take less than 20 minutes, and patients are immediately able to get up, move around, and return home the same day.
Patients typically see results for Botox® within 3-7 days after treatment. The end results are usually present for about six months. Many patients come back to Dr. Weinrach’s office due to his professionalism and kind disposition during the many injections necessary to maintain the effectiveness of the procedure.
Dysport works in a similar fashion to Botox® by blocking contractions in the muscles to prevent the creation of additional lines and wrinkles on the face. While Dysport (and Botox®) do not permanently remove existing wrinkles, they do make them less noticeable and are much more effective than over-the-counter creams and wrinkle serums.
Dysport is very similar to Botox® and has similar uses. The amount of “units” injected per area is different; other than that they can be used interchangeably. Patients see the results of Dysport in just a couple of days after a procedure. Injections remain effective for four to six months.
As with Botox® injections, Dr. Weinrach personally administers Dysport to patients to ensure the highest levels of safety and effectiveness. He is happy to work with patients to explain some of the subtle differences between Botox® and Dysport and give advice about treatment options that would be effective for each situation and aesthetic goals.
Xeomin® is rapidly gaining popularity in the cosmetic world as an alternative to both Botox® and Dysport. The biggest difference between Xeomin® and the other two injectables listed above is that Xeomin® has undergone a purification process to remove “accessory proteins”. The human body may be less apt to become resistant to Xeomin®, although there are no studies to support this.
Dr. Weinrach often recommends Xeomin® to patients who feel like previous Botox® or Dysport treatments are not resulting in the same changes as those that occurred when the person first started injectables.
Dr. Weinrach has been practicing for over 16 years and has given countless treatments of Xeomin®, Dysport, and Botox® to patients, with very high rates of satisfaction.
Dermal fillers are a common non-invasive treatment method used to correct wrinkles. They are much more effective than older collagen fillers and the results of a dermal filler injection such as Restylane® or Juvéderm® can be seen immediately. Both fillers are comprised of hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance that is found in human skin.
As the filler components are natural and lack animal proteins, the possibility of an allergic reaction to fillers is almost nonexistent. Dermal fillers are effective at giving additional volume to the face, filling out creases and folds, and can be used augment the lips to present a younger-looking and aesthetically pleasing face and mouth.
Injections of dermal fillers at the office of Dr. Weinrach usually can be carried out in under 30 minutes. Common side effects can include some temporary bruising and swelling, but the injection process leads to very little to no downtime.
Patients can return to work and to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment process has ended. In general, fillers remain effective for a few months to one year. Juvéderm® Voluma can last up to two years.
