Xeomin (incobotulinum toxin A) is the latest neurotoxin available for treatment of frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). Similar to Botox® (onabotulinum toxinA), Xeomin® is injected into the muscles in between the eyebrows that create these lines, relaxing the muscles resulting in improvement of these lines. As with Botox®, the effect is temporary, and lasts an average of approximately 6 months. An advantage of Xeomin® when compared to Botox® is that it is less expensive. It may also be advantageous in patients who have had Botox many times in the past who develop resistance to it.
